Overview

The Neuroradiology Section at the University of California San Francisco consists of nine full time diagnostic neuroradiologists, four postdoctoral fellows, and four clinical instructors. The Section of Interventional Neuroradiology has three full time faculty and two post doctoral fellows. Clinical sites of coverage include UCSF Moffitt/Long Hospital; UCSF/Mt. Zion Hospital, China Basin Imaging Center, San Francisco General Hospital, and the San Francisco VA Medical Center.

Number of Procedures per year: 14,000+ CTs, 22,000+ MRIs, 230+ myelograms, 1,016+ Diagonostic Angiograms, 650+ Interventional procedures, 75+ Biopsies, 540+ other procedures including Spine Injection/Discograms. Close collaboration with the Departments of Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, and Radiation Oncology provides a stimulating collegial atmosphere through daily interactions during readout sessions, conferences, and grand rounds.

Special expertise is provided by attendings in Head and Neck Imaging, Stroke Imaging, Pediatric Neuroradiology, Functional Neuroradiology, Magnetic Source Imaging, MR Spectroscopy, CNS trauma, Spine Diagnosis and Intervention, and Neurodiagnostic and Interventional Angiography.
